Acupuncture + Holistic Medicine + Shamanic Work
I’ve been fortunate to have been involved in the healing arts/healing industry since the late 90’s. My training comes from studying and learning with some pretty amazing people, schools, with a lifetime passion of self- exploration and experience. Around this time I trained as a Wholistic Therapist which means I studied holistic nutrition, western herbology, use of nutritional supplements, cleanses and detoxes and so forth. If you know of a cleanse or detox, I’ve probably done it. Woven within my studies are holistic philosophies of healing (think mind body spirit) which have become my guiding principles of what creates positive health outcomes and what supports our best selves.
In the early 2000s, my husband (a dietician and nutritionist) and I wrote a book called “Radical Freedom”, at the beginning wave information of the impact of epigenetics, gut health, inflammation, hormone balance and detox on health and well-being. What I discovered is this dance of balance that body consistently is challenged with given the impact of modern day living and the stressors that show up along the way.
I moved to the United States in 2012 and enrolled at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine graduating in 2014 after 28 months of intense learning and training. I’ve been practicing since 2016. I just love it. Besides using acupuncture needles, I’m trained in the adjunct therapies such as moxibustion, cupping, tui na massage, auricular acupuncture, as well as dietary and lifestyle recommendations based on Eastern medicine principles and philosophies as well as current thought.
Recently, I discovered Mikio Sankey, a Japanese acupuncturist who has captivated me in his techniques of treating the spirit of people and opening them to the possibilities of themselves. In a nut shell, it’s about connecting people to their hearts. He has inspired me in ways that I’m grateful for. If called for in my treatments besides traditional point prescription, I can incorporate certain treatment patterns which in their own unique ways, nourish the heart. These treatments help people find their puzzle piece in life, or how I say it, it helps people know their medicine in the world, clear the obstacles for them to express it in their lives whatever that may look like.

Shamanic Practitioner
One of my own heart expressions or my medicine – so grateful I’m able to offer this. I’m a shamanic practitioner which means I’ve been trained in doing healing work in a different way but it’s still heart work just a different set of tools to use. I discovered my teachers - Jose, Lena, and Anna Stevens (PowerPath) - about 12 years ago and I haven’t look back as the saying goes. It has taken me into deeper layers of understanding of the body, of healing, and overall, higher frequencies of seeing and living. Effable is the word I would use here, it’s hard to describe but oh so powerful.
In 2012, I completed a one year program followed by Advanced Practitioner trainings opening me to a deeper understanding of healing with the use of sound, plant medicine such as tobacco, and other shamanic tools to help heal spiritual disturbances that present themselves as trauma and pain – physically, emotionally, and mentally.
The lineages of shamanism I follow are of two streams – the Shipbo in Peru and the Wixaritari (Huichols) in Mexico. I continue my own healing work and exploration in these traditions by traveling to Peru and Mexico each year to sit and learn from the shamans and my teachers and being in ceremony. To me, my life is my ceremony.
And a big shout out to my clients, both continuing and those in the future….I’m grateful you allow me the opportunity to discuss this medicine and healing with you, to share with you perhaps, a new lens of the beauty of the world and ourselves.
